Watch out! Japanese casual party style with alcohol
Japanese casual party style is little different as western style.
The party is called “Nomi-kai”, meaning “drinking party.”
It is acceptable to become drunk.
As you might know,
Japanese bar can serve alcohol over midnight hours.
So, parties are ongoing!
When I was back to Japan from United States, I was wondering why Japanese people accept too much drinking alcohol at public space.
People are drunk at street, train, beach, park, or other public space.
It is abnormal to me.
But, most Japanese people think “it’s okay, only they have just drunk too much”.
There is not only man but also woman is drunk at public space too.
Sometimes, Japanese drunk woman is sleeping in the train!
She was lost control.
Is it normal too?
Nope!
I don’t think so.
When I worked at American company, one Japanese sales person was drunk at corporate party.
He lost control and he lost his job.
If the person has lost control or memory blackout at public space,
the person looks like the sloppy drunk.
I know that many Japanese people said,” sake is a good communication tool for us.”
I still do not understand the reason why.
So,
I want to ask them.
How does your kid think when they see you are drunk?
Maybe, you disappoint your kids and you lose your respect.
Therefore,
I suggest you, do not drink too much at public space.
Please keep your pride when you drink alcohol.
Never lose the control.
